Massive fire at High-raise in central Mumbai: 16 injured, 7 killed
A massive fire erupted in 20 story “Kamla Building” at 7 am when residents were in sleep. The injured were taken to Nair Hospital, Bhatia Hospital and Kasturba Hospital. Till report is written 7 were dead and 16 are injured reported.
The fire is rated level-3 which is considered major fire. 13 fire fighting engines were pressed in action and seven water jetties were also present to douse the fire.
The fire was erupted on 18th floor which engulfed 19th floor as well. There are 6 flats on each floor. Some of the residents were trapped there.
Short circuit could be one of the expected causes of such massive fire. The investigation will reveal the real cause.
