Deadly fire claimed 17 lives in a restaurant in China
China: Beijing: A fire broke out in a restaurant in the city of Changchun in northeastern China at around 12:40 pm local time. Firefighters immediately took action and by 3 pm they completed the search and rescue operation.
The injured have been to the hospital for medical care. In the deadly fire it is reported that 31 people lost their lives.
The occurrences of fire incident are frequent. It is presumed that lack of enforcement of building codes & widespread unauthorized construction may contribute significantly. It makes difficult for the people trapped in fire to find escape route.
Not to forget that in a recent incident in Changsha city a part of skyscraper building where state owned telecom company China Telecom had office in a was engulfed in the fire though no causalities were reported.
This year July also had a deadly fire incident in northeastern Jilin province in a warehouse where 15 people were killed and 25 injured.
A month before this incident martial art school fire in central Henan province killed 18 people, among those mostly children.
