Four Patients died in Hospital fire at Thane, Maharashtra

A fire broke out in another unfortunate incident of hospital fire gulping the lives of four and leaving many injured. The patients succumbed to burn injuries while shifted to other hospital for medical assistance.
At 3:40 am Prime Criticare Hospital caught fire. Three fire engines and five ambulances were at the spot and the fire was brought under control.
Twenty patients out of which six were in ICU were rescued. The fire destroyed first floor of the hospital and there was no Covid patient at the facility.
The cause of the fire is still not clear yet.
Maharashtra Minister Jitendra Awhad informed that the injured will get Rs 1 lakh & families of victims will be given Rs. 5 Lakh as ex gratia. The incident has been reported to CM of Maharashtra. An enquiry is ordered to be carried under a high level committee.
The hospital fires have become a matter of concern as last week 14 corona patients in ICU in Virar hospital died.
